Mailing List

The mailing list is one of the main activities of the Python West Midlands User Group.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you are going to post about a job offering, please provide real information. At the minimum provide the closing date. To save wasting people's time, it would be best if you could also specify the industry, job title and pay range.

About the List

• You must subscribe to the list before posting to it. All messages from people who don't subscribe will be rejected.
• The list is kindly provided by the folks at www.lug.org.uk. Thankyou!
• This is a discussion list, so if you join then you will periodically receive copies of questions and answers on various topics from other members of the mailing list. You will also be able to post messages to the list yourself, ask questions etc.
• All messages passed via the mailing list automatically have [PYWM] added to the subject line to identify them as being from the mailing list.
• Only use plain text format for messages. HTML messages are bigger, will confuse the mailing list server sign-up process and have a tendency to get blocked by our spam filter. This page has some instructions. Also Coventry Lug have a good page about it.
• Do not send attachments to the list. Tell people about it and offer to email to people personally or put it on the web and link to it.
• Important information, extremely long messages such as detailed how-tos, and other similar things should be put onto this wiki instead.
• Please be nice to people ! We may have disagreements, but please don't let them get personal.
